The shades of "real"...

After being in second life for nearly two years, I begin to wonder about things...if you have ever seen the movie Walle... may understand what I am speaking of...how many times have you wished you could chage your self as easily as we can do this on second life. As a new photographer I have been working on ways to make the photos from there look more real to life....here's a few that worked well... ~*Dawn

Couples, Couples, Couples

Sometimes the easiest pictures in the world to take are those of couples in love. Just throw out a pose ball or two...(wait...we are talking about couples...for sure two), and you have your self a photo shoot. I love it when the couple's love shows in the photos taken. Give these photos an once over and see if you agree! ~*Dawn

sandra Zarco

Oh! I love to feature other artists as you may know this lady has a wonderful gallery of the work that she does in second life. Her name is sandra Zarco. At times she appears as a cat, at time a lady...she is always an artist...here is her story in her own words...and click here for a surl to Sandra's Gallery.
"I am everything and nothing in Rl. My learning hunger is huge, and it never stops, which is good because I meet wonderful people, and not good because my brain cannot keep everything. I forget person's name, so don't be surprised if i intruduce myself twice to you.
I have been writing a column for my town newspapers, local gossip, something like 'Sex and the City' in a vilage form. I work in an art gallery where I design, make and sell unique jewelry (unique because i am not able to make same thing twice even if you point a gun in my head). It's made of semi precious stones and silver. I love my job and developing my creative side. I like to draw, pencil is like my mother. Sometimes when I play with plaster and colors, I make Venetian masks. Am I good or not – you decide.
To me everything is in the proces, when I am done – it is worthless, that's why I cannot have my own gallery, I would go broke in a month.
Why am I here? Well, at first I just wanted to research SL for my column, what is all this racket about… I was lost at first. I wanted to earn some lindens and ended at some beautifully designed sim where I was chased by bad shaped male characters with their 'weapons' out. I run away, desapointed and insulted.
Then some little lamp lighted in my head and I typed in search – fantasy, what brings me at our home gate. There was a beautiful dressed knight guardian who greeted me and asked me politely to dress up. So I got my freebie gown at the gate, hid behind a column (or I thought so) and in a hour I was dressed, while good knight was having fun watching silly newbie having troubles with changing the apearance.
The rest is history, friendly creatures, cute faes, funny drows and proud dragons, beautiful elves… It was love at the first sight. I wanted to be part of this fine community, play with them, be friends with them. And now I am, now my heart is big as Avilon hills. At first I was stuck at drum cicrcle, until one smart lady elbowed me and asked me for my guardian quest.- Guardian what? I want to be druid and elf, not guardian.Good maid rolled her eyes, and started to talk very slowly. So that's how I got familliar to our home, got to know every tree, and every rock. Well… my knees and nose for sure (still have some black marks to prove it).
I am in Laurelin house because I am egoistic and think that i have something to share with you. Because i think I can learn a lot from you. I like to laugh. Life is hard enough, so laughter is perfect heart massage."
Thanks Sandra, thanks for sharing your wonderful talent with us!!! ~*Dawn

In the "PINK"...

OMG!!! One of the common threads for Hair Fair this year was PINK...now I have to be honest...pink is my least favorite color...peach...ok...pink...no...never even owned anything in rl in pink...*shudders*... HOWEVER...this year PINK means something more to me...it is the color for Locks Of Love...the sponsors of the Hair Fair...many of the hair offered there by all the vendors gave 50% of the sale price to Locks of Love...I myself have donated over 40 inches of hair to Locks of Love in rl...Many of the vendors also offered special pink hair...here is a collection of the free offerings of PINK...and I may change my mind about pink after all!!! ~*Dawn
